If you have a Home Based, Network Marketing Business, and have been in the business for any length of time, I’m sure you have found that although this life is greatly rewarding in many ways…it can have its share of frustrations.
If nothing is coming to mind right now as a frustration my guess is that you haven’t been around that long, or your not really working that hard and have no goals…I’m just sayin’… but even if that’s the case keep reading, because this WILL help you in the days to come.
Our goal is not to remove frustrating situations, as this would be impossible! Just like real life, your business is no different, there will be situations. The goal is to learn how to take those frustrations and turn them into catapults that thrust you into a mindset of motivation. The goal is to take a negative and turn it into a positive. I am a “The Glass Is Always Half Full” kind of a person. Well, at least 95% of the time….I occasionally find myself thinking negatively, then I smell the awful stench coming out my ears and quickly change my thinking! This is a MUST to be successful!
Let’s be practical, these situations can involve your own mindset, your customers, your team members, family or life interruptions etc…but you have to remember that anything worth doing in life is worth doing well, so instead of allowing frustration to hold you back, lets take a look at 5 ways you can “Turn That Frown Upside Down” and use frustration to benefit you.
1. Always remember that you can only be stopped if you want to be stopped.
You must make a conscience decision in your mind that you are not going to quit just because the going gets a little rough around the edges. If you don’t make this decision right away, I hate to be the one to say it, but you will end up quitting on yourself. Challenges come with all businesses and just because you work from home, doesn’t make that reality go away.
2. Decide to be a life long, life situation learner.
The challenges that bring frustration can be blessings in disguise if you look at them the right away. So you have a situation with a team member that upsets you, it feels like a big deal, and maybe it is in that moment but in the long run, ask yourself what you can learn from it. Once you learn how to handle the sticky situation you will be equipped if and when it comes up again. You will also be able to pass this insight onto your other team members as you help them grow. As I said, BLESSING in disguise.
3. If it doesn’t work try and try again.
Trial and error is under estimated and too often seen as failure, don’t make this mistake. Let’s say your having trouble talking to customers, getting leads, training new people, staying on task, etc. etc… the list is endless…We all have different personalities, so all methods will not be equal. Find what works for you. This is YOUR business and just because your sponsor or your company even, does something a certain way does not mean that you have to follow their way to the “T” it may actually hinder you. Take what they have taught you, keep the good parts of the framework, but don’t be afraid to change it up a little and bring your unique qualities to it. You never know, you might set a new trend and help countless other people who are struggling just like you are.
4. Believe in yourself and be willing to see areas that need a polishing.
Many situations that arise and bring challenges along with them are fantastic opportunities to see what were really made of. Give yourself permission to make mistakes so that when you encounter them you are humble enough to recognize them, admit to them, learn from them and move on. People who are afraid of making mistakes and admitting to them are actually the most insecure, so let God show you who you really are and learn to love yourself, mistakes and all.
5. Don’t be too proud to beg…
I’m just kidding, there’s no begging going on here, but don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for help. You may find that certain situations require a little mentoring and this gives you the opportunity to begin building relationships. Reach out to people that are within your team that can help you along the way. None of us were meant to go the journey alone, this includes you! Every person on my team knows, at least I hope they know, that they can come to me anytime with any problem and I will do what I can to help. They might need direction, encouragement or maybe even correction out of love, but whatever it is I am always happy and honored to help. So, don’t be afraid to reach out….if you don’t you could really be cheating yourself.
Does “frustration look any different to you now? As the definition indicates, it’s just a feeling. Don’t be lead by pure emotion and remember that your goals and plans can only be thwarted if you let them.
I would love to hear what frustrations you are having in your home based business! Share with us here by leaving a comment and lets see if we can’t turn it around!
