Were going to talk about POOP today…WHAT??
Yep, that’s right. Now I’m not an expert, don’t claim to be. But I had my own struggle with IBS years ago and I have learned a thing or two. What I do know for sure is that a large percentage of your health is based on what happens inside of your digestive track.
Which is where poop comes in.
What is normal?
You know what, I don’t know! I personally believe people should be going AT LEAST once a day, preferably 2-3x per day. I think it depends on who you ask. One person will tell you that you can go once or twice a week and if that’s normal for you then that’s normal. I disagree with this opinion because if you don’t get rid of what you just put in you’ll be bloated and ummm….it’s kind of disgusting to think that your “toxic waste” is just sitting inside of your intestines.
On the flip side their are plenty of people out there that have to go too often, and that’s not healthy either. If you’ve ever experienced IBS or any other kind of poop problems you know that it can be painful, inconvenient to say the least and embarrassing! I’ll spare you any details 😉
If your holding onto waste your holding onto weight!
Not having regular bowel movements is one reason why some people struggle to lose weight. Elimination is the way your body get’s rid of the unneeded and unwanted waste. The good news is there are some steps that you can take to increase the health of your colon and it’s function.
3 Ways to Improve and Regulate Colon Function
1. Start with a glass of that clear liquid everyone’s always talking about WATER!
You must, must, must drink enough water! Did I say this is a MUST? If your not drinking at least half your body weight in oz of water per day PLEASE increase your water intake!
2. Eating a balanced healthy diet with plenty of fruits, veggies and whole grains will also aid in healthy colon function.
3. Supplement and aid your colon with Regular.
When I am working with someone who is having trouble losing weight one of the first questions I ask is.. Do you go to the bathroom REGULARY? 9 times out of 10 getting them to add Regular to their routine will do the trick! It also helps people who have to go to the bathroom too often!
6 Things to Avoid If You “Go” Too Often

4.Alcohol should be avoided or at least used VERY moderately
