God Wants To Bless You, But Are You Sabotaging Yourself With Excuses?
As my grandma used to say ~ “Sh** or get off the pot.”
I get really irritated with excuse makers. It actually makes my ears hurt to have to listen to them go on and on about how terrible life is for them. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and start making some better decisions.
I’m not trying to be insensitive to those that are going through hard times – but when your hard times are continually created by your own choices or lack of, then seriously, stop talking about it.
A close family member recently told me “God hates me.” No, God doesn’t hate you, you’re just creating a lot of problems for yourself and then blaming God.
Listen, God is LOVE. He cares about EVERYTHING that concerns us – EVERYTHING! He also cares enough to give us the chance to learn from our mistakes so that we don’t keep doing the same dumb things over and over again. I think maybe some are missing this -learn from your mistakes- portion. The good news is that His grace is never ending so it’s never too late to start making some better choices.
Life is hard sometimes. It’s that way for EVERYONE, not just the excuse makers. Everyone has to deal with the mundane and not so mundane dealings of the day. The “poor me” mindset is never going to get anybody anywhere. That’s a promise. I’m not that old, but I’ve never seen it work for anyone. You can’t have a victim mentality and be a winner all at the same time.
If you want your life to change then you have to change the way you think and see things. You have to look at a situation and determine HOW you can best handle it, not sit with your head in your hands feeling sorry for yourself.
My Grandma was right about this – You can’t sit on the pot wishing and whining – you have to put some energy into it.
Instead of complaining assess the situation, make a decision and act on it. Get some sound advice if you need to – most of all though – please STOP whining, crying, blaming others and claiming that God hates you. He doesn’t. The reality is that you may not be very happy with yourself though. Maybe that’s why you’re so destructive.
It’s time for some AMA, Assess, Make a decision and Act. It’s time for change.
That’s my two cents for the day. 😉
